On the 9th of November 2024, Lagos Food Bank Initiative partnered with Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) Nigeria to provide cooked meals for children and staple foods for adults in Ajeromi Ifelodun LGA, in Ajegunle Community, Lagos, as a way of mitigating the effect of high living costs, stemmed from rising inflation and low economic productivity.

This outreach was an initiative of the partner organization, RMB Nigeria, to partner with a leading frontline agency in tackling hunger and malnutrition, Lagos Food Bank, to impact households through their annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) engagement that fosters resilience in underserved communities through community-driven projects within the environs they serve.

Addressing attendees of the outreach, the Founder/Executive Director of Lagos Food Bank Initiative, Dr. Michael Sunbola, appreciated the partner organization for their recurring partnership to provide food support for vulnerable households in low-income communities. “Partnerships are key to addressing pressing issues like food insecurity, whether it is with the private or public sector, building resilience for sustenance can only be achieved through deliberate collaborative effort, and I sincerely appreciate our partners and volunteers who have shown total commitment to serving this community today.”

The CEO of RMB Nigeria, Bayo Ajayi, delivered a remarkable speech that highlighted the importance of community development in relation to the values of their reputable organization. “Partnering with Lagos Food Bank to help communities like this gives us satisfaction and a sense of solidarity with the underserved, and we look forward to more successful collaborations in the near future.”

The eventful day witnessed a great turnout of food bank volunteers who participated in large numbers, contributing to community development as agents of positive change in our society.
