In celebration of 8 matrimonial years together, Ayokunle and Toyin Kunle-Salami, with the initials S.A.L.T. partnered with Lagos Food Bank Initiative on the 15th December 2024, to provide staple foods and relief items to vulnerable women and families from low-income communities to alleviate the hardship caused by the economic reality in recent times.

Taking place at the Lagos Food Bank warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja, the timely outreach addressed the persistent food insecurity crisis affecting families living below the poverty line in underserved communities across Lagos state.

“We are happy to be here again to partner with the Lagos Food Bank, we were here 8 years ago when we just got married, and we are here again because we believe in what they do for humanity. I am looking forward to returning to the food bank not just as a partner, but as a volunteer, because what they do for the needy is truly amazing,” said Mrs. Toyin Kunle-Salami, during her address to attendees of the outreach.

In his opening remarks before the commencement of the outreach, the Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Michael Sunbola, appreciated the partners and long-time friends of the food bank, highlighting the impact of their previous partnership which amounted to impacting 1,300 children and seniors in Oyingbo community, Lagos. He also appreciated the volunteers present for showing unwavering support for community development initiatives.

The 8th anniversary of the couple proved a beacon of hope to underserved communities and families affected by food insecurity, providing succor to those most deserving of care and support to foster resilience and promote good health.
