“In this time of hardship, it is not easy to gather women together who are struggling to provide for their families and give them food that will last them for weeks, free of charge. I want to thank the organizers of this program and their partners for putting smiles on the faces of these women from different communities, including myself, may God continue to bless all of you,” said Mrs. Ngozi, one of the beneficiaries of the Temporary Food Distribution Program (TEFAP) of Lagos Food Bank Initiative.

Taking place at the food bank warehouse in Punch Estate, Mangoro, Ikeja, the food bank partnered with Mavin Records on the 26th of October to nourish households with staple foods and relief materials to ease the effect of the harsh economic conditions affecting families in underserved communities, nationwide.

Speaking to attendees on behalf of the partner organization, Tomisin Afolabi, A&R, Mavin Records, appreciated the food bank for yet another successful partnership to impact communities, and commended the dedication of the food bank volunteers who were present for the distribution, and were instrumental in packaging of the food boxes alongside their team members.

The timely distribution kicked off shortly after an engaging session of games was played to lift the spirits of the beneficiaries, and the winners were awarded with gifts from the food bank. Having engaged in the packing of the food boxes, the Mavin Records team showed total commitment and participation by handing over the boxes of hope to the women that came in large numbers, having been scheduled by the food bank for the distribution.

It was a remarkable experience for all in attendance, witnessing the power of collaboration in addressing the critical issue of hunger in the society, and the satisfaction derived from providing the underprivileged with basic necessities of life.
