On Saturday the 27th of August 2022, Lagos Food Bank Initiative hosted its 2022 fundraising walkathon campaign tagged: “Feed the Future 4.0” with an impressive turnout of youth volunteers who were present to show support for the school feeding program of the initiative, which was focused on raising funds that would be instrumental to the creation of more impact with the program.

With notable personalities like: Alex Unusual, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Leo Dasilva, Pamilerin Adegoke, Foluke Daramola, Jodie, Ebere Nwizu and many others present at the event as it also included a large number of young, vibrant and energetic crowd of volunteers from different spheres of life. The walkathon donors who were present included Tolaram Nutri Beverages Limited and Nestlé Pure Life, amongst others who also showed their support. The event officially kick started with the aerobics session led by Alex, Enioluwa and Pamilerin. The invited guests gave keynote speeches as they expressed their excitement at being able to participate in the walk, as they also pledged their support to the Lagos Food Bank Initiative. The President of the initiative, Mr. Michael Sunbola also gave a welcoming speech as he expressed his gratitude to the invited celebrity guests and all participants of the walk. He addressed the reason for the event as he also pointed out the journey and impact of the school feeding program of the initiative.

The 12km walk began immediately from Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island with the invited guest leading the crowd with music, dancing with an overall energetic atmosphere. All through the walk volunteers had glowing remarks about the awareness walk. Tolu, a new volunteer voiced her excitement on how she was glad to be part of such a big movement, Yewande a long time volunteer also said “she was happy she didn’t miss out on the walk as it had surpassed her expectations”.

The event featured various engaging sessions which included aerobics, face painting, meet and greet with the various celebrities in attendance, interview sessions, dance and music, fun exercise, volunteer networking and much more.

Overall, the fundraising walkathon campaign tagged Feed the Future 4.0 was a successful event.
