In the spirit of giving, Pastor Tobi Adegboyega partnered with Lagos Food Bank Initiative on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024, to deliver staple foods for a thousand women and families in Kosofe Local Government Area in Lagos state, through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) of the food bank.
Taking place in Oworonshoki community, the timely distribution addressed the shortage of food resources in economically disadvantaged households during a time of festivity and merriment, in commemoration of Christmas.
In the absence of the partner of the day, his representative was present from the start to finish, witnessing the seamless process of a large-scale distribution executed by the food bank, with the help of its volunteers who showed up in numbers to assist in ensuring a successful outreach.
Speaking to the food bank media team, one Mrs. Abiola, a mother of five living in the community where the distribution was held, revealed that as at the morning of that fateful day, their pots were dry and empty. She thanked the food bank and their partner deeply, on behalf of other women who received the much needed support for their families.
This successful partnership is one of many that has led to improved food security in underserved communities in Lagos state, executed by the Lagos Food Bank Initiative, a nonprofit committed to championing sustainable solutions to curb food insecurity, malnutrition and poverty affecting vulnerable individuals and households in low-income communities.
