On Wednesday, July 22nd, Devyani International Limited (KFC) will partner with Lagos Food Bank Initiative through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) for a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to support vulnerable families by providing staple foods that can sustain families for over two weeks at the Food Bank warehouse.
Having collaborated and executed two community outreaches in the past, this partnership is set to advance food security in underserved communities, directly impacting households most deserving of support.
ABOUT OUR PARTNER:
KFC started operations in Nigeria on 19 December 2009, opening its debut outlet at City Mall in Onikan, Lagos. This made it one of the earliest major international fast-food chains to establish a strong presence in the country, tapping into Nigeria’s population of over 150 million as a natural growth market for Yum! Brands, KFC’s global parent company. Today, KFC Nigeria is run locally by Devyani International Nigeria, operating under licence from Yum! Brands. Over the past 16 years, the brand has expanded from a single Lagos store to around 40 outlets nationwide, with the heaviest concentration still in Lagos and additional branches in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Ilorin, Akure, Shagamu, Enugu, and Kano. Beyond its trademark fried chicken, KFC Nigeria has localized its menu with offerings like Peppe & Suya Burger, Spicy Rice, Yam Fries, Suya Chicken to suit Nigerian tastes, and customers can now order through delivery platforms such as GLOVO, Mano and Chowdeck.

This outreach aims to support resilient families that are affected by hunger and food insecurity.

To distribute nutritious staple foods to households.
To promote equitable access to nutrition in underserved communities.
