EASTER OUTREACH

On the 16th of April 2022, the Lagos Food Bank Initiative will be reaching out to vulnerable and indigent residents of Agege community in Lagos, Nigeria, in celebration of the Easter festivities. This Easter outreach tagged “Easter with a Dash of Hope” will be done through the Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).

COMMUNITY

The outreach will be held in Agege community. Agege is a suburb and local government area in the City of Lagos located in South west, Nigeria. The population of the area is estimated at 461,123 inhabitants with Christianity and Islam as the commonly practiced religions.  Agege is a peri-urban area densely populated with children.

GOALS
The main goal of this outreach is to reach vulnerable groups within the community with food relief during the special fasting period of Ramadan.

OBJECTIVES

  • To support vulnerable members of the community with food relief during the Easter celebration.
  • To make food donations and offer nutrition education to residents within the community.
  • To increase awareness in the area of food security, the standard of living, and quality of life.
