On December 23rd, 2024, an impactful outreach event took place at Lagos Food Bank warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja, where over 100 women from families facing food insecurity, due to the current economic situation, gathered. Partnering with Lagos Food Bank, Sophia Momodu aimed to leverage the organization’s expertise in providing essential supplies to families who need immediate support through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).

Sophia spent a substantial part of her day packaging staple foods and household items into boxes for the beneficiaries, working alongside a dedicated team of volunteers. Together, they ensured each box was filled with nutritious items to help alleviate the burden of food insecurity.

In a heartfelt display of compassion, the partner personally handed out the food packages, demonstrating a commitment to treating every individual with dignity, regardless of their social status. The women commended her humility and took quality time to express their gratitude with contagious smiles and heartfelt prayers for both the food bank team, and the partner of the day.

As a returning partner within the space of one month, Sophia highlighted that Lagos Food Bank effectively channels resources from those who have enough to those who need support. Her experience with seamless distribution underscores this remark. This collaboration is vital for uplifting the community, creating lasting impact and reminding all that compassion can transform even the most challenging circumstances.
