On Saturday, August 1, 2026, The Elevation Church’s Love Week 2026 came to a meaningful close with the third and final phase of its outreach, implemented through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Ajegunle, Lagos.
Building on a longstanding partnership, members of The Elevation Church joined LFBI staff and volunteers to provide nutritious food boxes to resilient women and vulnerable households facing food insecurity. More than a distribution exercise, the outreach reflected a shared commitment to ensuring that Love Week leaves a lasting impact in the communities it was designed to serve.
The atmosphere in Ajegunle was filled with warmth and genuine human connection as volunteers welcomed beneficiaries with kindness and dignity. Every food box distributed represented practical support for families navigating difficult economic realities, while every interaction reinforced the simple but powerful message that no one should face hardship alone.
Speaking during the outreach, Mr. Joshua Chinonso of The Elevation Church expressed appreciation to the Lagos Food Bank Initiative for yet another successful collaboration. She noted that Love Week is about intentionally reaching people where they are, demonstrating love through service, and making a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals and families. She also commended the dedication of LFBI staff and volunteers, whose commitment continues to make these interventions impactful.
Dr. Michael Sunbola, Executive Director of the Lagos Food Bank Initiative, expressed appreciation to The Elevation Church for its steadfast partnership and continued investment in improving food security among vulnerable communities. He noted that collaborations such as this continue to demonstrate what is possible when organisations unite around a shared vision of service, dignity, and hope.
As the final phase of Love Week came to a close, the smiles and words of gratitude among beneficiaries reflected the lasting impact of a community choosing to serve together.
The conclusion of Love Week 2026 marks the end of this year’s outreach campaign, but not the end of a partnership built on shared purpose. Together, The Elevation Church and the Lagos Food Bank Initiative continue to demonstrate that when compassion is translated into consistent action, lives are strengthened, hope is renewed, and communities become more resilient.
