Through its inspiring “Box of Happiness” initiative, Devyani International Limited (KFC Nigeria) brought joy, nourishment, and hope to vulnerable families in a meaningful way.
On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, the Lagos Food Bank Initiative welcomed representatives from Devyani International Nigeria for the third partnership through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) at the Food Bank warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja. United by a shared commitment to tackling food insecurity, the KFC team actively participated in packaging and distributing nutritious food boxes to resilient women and vulnerable households across underserved communities.
The atmosphere was filled with energy, teamwork, and a shared sense of purpose as KFC representatives worked side by side with LFBI staff and volunteers. Every “Box of Happiness” carefully packaged and distributed represented much more than food. It carried reassurance, restored dignity, and reminded beneficiaries that they are not alone in their struggles.
Speaking during the outreach, Anthony Katchy, Head of Human Resources at Devyani International Nigeria, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to partner with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative once again. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to giving back through initiatives that create meaningful impact, noting that supporting vulnerable communities remains an important part of the organization’s broader commitment to social responsibility.
Also speaking at the outreach, Dr. Michael Sunbola, Executive Director of the Lagos Food Bank Initiative, expressed sincere appreciation to Devyani International Nigeria for its continued partnership and hands-on commitment to addressing hunger. He commended the volunteers for their unwavering dedication and noted that sustained collaborations such as this continue to strengthen communities, restore dignity, and expand access to nutritious food for vulnerable families.
For the beneficiaries, each food box brought more than essential staple items. It eased the burden of uncertain meals, offered immediate relief during a difficult season, and renewed confidence that they had not been forgotten. Many left with grateful hearts, carrying home not just food, but also the reassurance that acts of kindness can make a lasting difference.
This outreach reflects the Lagos Food Bank Initiative’s mission to combat hunger and malnutrition through targeted interventions such as TEFAP. Through its “Box of Happiness” initiative, Devyani International Nigeria continues to demonstrate how purposeful partnerships can nourish families, strengthen communities, and remind us that even the simplest box can carry hope, dignity, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow.
