A child’s bright smile after receiving a warm, nutritious meal says more than words ever could.

On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) partnered once again with JTA Foundation through the Education Enhancement Intervention for Food Insecure Students (EDUFOOD) program. United by a shared vision of ensuring that no child is held back by hunger, the partnership brought nutritious school meals to pupils in a low-cost private school, creating an environment where children could learn, grow, and thrive.

As a recurring partner of the EDUFOOD program, the JTA Foundation continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving the lives of underprivileged children through access to nutrition and education. Established to be a voice and light for vulnerable children across Nigeria and beyond, the Foundation’s support reflects its belief that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential regardless of their circumstances.

The outreach was marked by smiles, excitement, and eager anticipation as nutritious meals were served to the pupils. The JTA Foundation team and Food Bank volunteers worked seamlessly to ensure every child received a healthy, balanced meal, transforming an ordinary school day into a memorable experience filled with care and encouragement. Beyond nourishing young bodies, the outreach reinforced the importance of creating learning environments where children can concentrate, participate confidently in class, and pursue their education without the burden of hunger.

Speaking during the outreach, EDUFOOD program Officer, Rilwan Oyedele, highlighted the vital role that school feeding plays in improving children’s nutritional status, increasing school attendance, enhancing classroom concentration, and reducing the risk of school dropout among vulnerable pupils. They also expressed appreciation to the JTA Foundation for its continued partnership and unwavering commitment to investing in the wellbeing and future of children through recurring support for the programme.

For many of the pupils, the meals represented much more than lunch. They provided the nourishment needed to stay attentive in class, the energy to participate in learning, and the reassurance that their wellbeing matters. Each meal served was a meaningful investment in a child’s health, confidence, and future aspirations.

This recurring partnership between the JTA Foundation and the Lagos Food Bank Initiative reflects a shared commitment to breaking the cycle of classroom hunger through sustainable collaboration. By ensuring that children receive the nutritious meals they need to learn effectively, both organisations are helping to build stronger foundations for academic success, healthier childhoods, and brighter futures. Together, they continue to demonstrate that when education and nutrition go hand in hand, every child is given a greater opportunity to succeed.
