“Behind every food box is a family breathing easier, a child eating with dignity, and a burden lifted for another day.”
These powerful words from Dr. Michael Sunbola captured the heart of the day as the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) welcomed its newest partner.
On June 9, 2026, the Rental Professionals Society of Nigeria (RPSN) partnered with LFBI for the first time through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). The leading industry association for event rental professionals in Nigeria brought its members to the LFBI warehouse in Mangoro, Ikeja, to support resilient women facing food insecurity.
Volunteers and RPSN members worked side by side with dedication and warmth, packaging and distributing nutritious food boxes. The atmosphere was one of shared purpose and quiet gratitude as the team turned professional collaboration into tangible community impact.
Dr. Michael Sunbola, Executive Director of LFBI, expressed profound appreciation to RPSN for choosing TEFAP as their platform for corporate social responsibility. He commended the volunteers for their consistent energy and dedication, and specially recognized the leadership of RPSN present: Mrs. Kemi Adeleke (Founder), Mrs. Taiwo Oderinlo (President), Mr Richard Ilesanmi (Vice President), and Mrs. Olubukola Uviase (Public Relations Officer). He highlighted RPSN’s previous acts of kindness, including donations to LASTMA and support for industry workers, noting that today they were extending that same generosity to families in need.
In her remarks, Mrs. Taiwo Oderinlo, President of RPSN, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to partner with LFBI. She reaffirmed the association’s commitment to accountability, excellence, and service, stating that giving back to the community is a core part of their values.
For the beneficiaries, primarily resilient women, the food boxes brought more than nourishment. They offered tangible relief, restored dignity, and a comforting reminder that they are seen and supported during difficult times.
This partnership reflects LFBI’s mission to combat hunger and malnutrition through targeted programs like TEFAP. RPSN’s decision to mark their commitment to service by supporting vulnerable families stands as a beautiful example of how professional bodies can contribute meaningfully to building a stronger, more compassionate society.
