On Thursday, 4th June, 2026, the Lagos Food Bank Initiative officially announced the publication of its ninth annual report and financial statement for the fiscal year ‘25. The report highlights the food bank’s activities and overall impact in vulnerable communities across the country.
The Food Bank received a global membership certification in food banking operations and an award for advancing food banking in Africa by the Global Foodbanking Network (GFN). An innovative Volunteer Hour Tracking System (VHTS) was launched to improve the management and experience of over 30,000 physical and virtual volunteers.
With a significant increase in lives impacted and meals served, an additional state was also reached through the Food Banking Network Nigeria (FBNN) initiative, combating hunger and food insecurity in underserved communities nationwide.
